Advent (scroll down for new posts)

It is Advent, the new Church Year has started – and because a good start is half the work (or so we say in Dutch), we hit it off with one of the most beautiful seasons!

Make the most of Advent by reading the daily meditations of the English Dominican friars. Or pick an Advent prayer to say daily. This site also has great tips to spend Advent prayerfully.

Christmas isn’t about gifts, of course*, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get everybody you like a little something from a monastery gift shop… (The Dominican Nun’s hand lotion is better than they say it is.)

Oh, and here are some excellent hymns for Advent, by the way…

*Christmas is about tuning organs, singing, serving, more singing, oh no the festal procession cross is far too heavy for me, passing out on my aunt’s fantastic overstuffed chair, and serving. As far as I know.

We’d be most grateful if you would post about three forthcoming Latin Masses in Ireland:

Also, we’d be very grateful if you would put our blog on your list of blogs.

    God bless you!
